Abstract

The purpose of this study are to describes (1) the contribution of reading to writing argumentative skills class XI MAN 1 Bangko Merangin, (2) the contribution of reading comprehension skills to write argumentative class XI MAN 1 Bangko Merangin, (3) the contribution of reading and reading comprehension skills together to write argumentative skills class XI MAN 1 Bangko Merangin. This study is a descriptive study using quantitative approach and the correlation method. In this study described the contribution of reading to the writing skills of argument, the contribution of reading comprehension skills to write argumentative skills, and the contribution of interest in reading and reading comprehension together against argumentative writing skills. The results showed that (1) interest read contributed significantly to the skill of writing argumentative 3.87%, (2) reading comprehension skills contribute significantly to writing argumentative skills of 30.63%, and (3) interest in reading and skills reading comprehension together against argumentative writing skills by 64, 8%. It can be seen that the interest in reading and reading comprehension skills to contribute in a very significant and predictive of write argumentative skills.
